Ghostwriting

This article will explain our new feature that will allow users to act as ghostwriters and publish posts instead of somebody else.

Ghostwriting works on three levels. You can be a ghostwriter for somebody within your organization,  you can have users that will ghostwrite instead of you or you can have both abilities.

How to add a new ghostwriter?

To allow somebody to be a ghostwriter for you, you need to follow these steps:

1. Click on an arrow next to your profile picture in upper right corner.

2. Go to My Settings and find Ghostwriting.

3. Click on a + Ghostwriter button.

4. Add the employee(s) that you want as your ghostwriters as seen in the video.

How to remove existing ghostwriters?

To delete somebody from your list of ghostwriters, you can follow the same steps as above and then instead of clicking on + Ghostwriter, you need to find that user and click on a trash bin icon as shown here:

How to post when you're a ghostwriter for somebody

If somebody chose you as their ghostwriter, from that moment on, you will have the ability to post in their name. To do so, you need to follow the ordinary steps for posting, but you would also have to choose who are you posting as. Once the post is published, you will be able to see the name of the person you ghostwritten for, and your name will be visible below their name as shown in the video.

*Please note that if you start typing and then choose to post as somebody else, all of your text will be lost once the change is done, and the system will notify you about it promptly.

*Only the ghostwriter and the person who the ghostwriter is posting for can see the ghostwriter name. The post will look normal to everybody else.

How to monitor the ghostwritten posts?

If you want to go and check who posted what in your name, you can do so by going to the same place where'd you add or remove ghostwriters and check Users Who Can Post For You grid. Once you're there, you can see a column titled Post and you can see both the amount of the posts as well as the actual posts published in your name. In case you have ghostwritten some of the text as well, you can check those posts if you check Users You Can Post For grid. By clicking on the post number, you will open Ghostwriting History and be able to see the content of those posts.

Important Notes:

* Ghostwriting option is currently available on web application only. It will become available on mobile apps in the future as well.

* Ghostwriter cannot post to channels they are not a member of,  no matter their ghostwriting permission.
