How to Configure Attendance Rules in Time Clock

Time Clock provides configurable attendance rules to help organizations determine employee attendance status based on recorded working hours. These rules support consistent attendance tracking by identifying whether employees have completed a full workday, worked a partial day, or were absent.

 Half Day Rule

The Half Day Rule determines when an employee’s recorded working hours qualify as a partial workday. This helps organizations distinguish between employees who completed their scheduled working hours and those who worked only part of their scheduled day.

Full Day Present Rule

The Full Day Present Rule determines when an employee’s attendance qualifies as a completed workday. This allows organizations to evaluate recorded attendance against their configured attendance requirements.

Full Day Absent Rule

The Full Day Absent Rule determines when an employee should be classified as absent for the scheduled workday.

How to Configure Attendance Labels
  1. Open Time Clock in General Settings of HR Cloud.
  2. Navigate to the Time Clock Attendance Labels.
  3. Locate the attendance label configuration.
  4. Review the available attendance statuses and their associated rules.
  5. Configure the applicable attendance requirements.
  6. Save the Attendance labels.

 Important Notes

  • Attendance classifications depend on the organization’s configured rules.
  • Review attendance settings to ensure they align with company policies.
  • Overnight shifts may require special consideration when determining the applicable attendance day.
  • Attendance rules should be reviewed alongside the organization’s Work Schedule configuration.
