How to deactivate Position, Location, Department, Division, Employment Type?
This article explains how you can deactivate Positions/Locations/Departments/Divisions/Employment Types in the HR Cloud.
* The following instructions are not applicable for clients that use an ADP Integration.
If you wish to deactivate Positions/Locations/Departments/Divisions/Employment Types so it doesn't show on the 'Add New Employee' menu:
- Go to the 'Settings' page from the left panel of the application.
- Click the 'Company' icon.
- The left panel of the page lists Position/Location/Department/Division/Employment Type.
- To see each one, click on it.
- Click on the name of the Position/Location/Department/Division/Employment Type you want to change.
- When a new screen opens up, click on the 'Edit' button in the upper right corner.
- On the bottom, under 'Record Status', choose 'Inactive' and click 'Save'.
When a record is inactivated, it won't show as an option anymore throughout the system.
Employees who have data on their profile that is now inactive wont' be immediately affected.
As soon as them or their admin/manager tries to update their profile, they will be prompted to change/remove the inactive value and replace it with an active one.
