How to impersonate an employee?

This article explains how to impersonate an employee account.

HR Cloud allows authorized users to impersonate other users. When impersonating another user, the employee has access to exactly what that user can access in the system based on his permissions. This is mostly used for testing and troubleshooting.

By default, an HR Admin can impersonate any employee. However, you can modify the settings and give impersonation permissions to other users as well.

Please note that the employee will receive an email notification when his account is impersonated.

  1. Go to People application.
  2. Go to the People tab.
  3. Select the user you wish to impersonate and open his profile page.
  4. Go to the Actions drop-down on the top right corner of the page and click Impersonate Employee under HR Action.
  5. Confirm to go to the employee account.
  6. An email notification is sent to the impersonated employee immediately and this notification can not be disabled.
  7. To go back to your account click on switch back to your account in the orange track.
