How to Create a Single-use Individual Task?

This article will show you how you can create an individual task that you will use only once.

There are several methods available for assigning an individual task, and the specific steps will vary depending on the application you choose to use.

How to assign a task from the Onboard application? 

This is mostly used if you have a single-use onboarding task that a specific employee should complete and you won't need it afterward. 

  1. Go to the Onboard application and find the wanted employee,
  2. Select them by clicking the toggle next to their names, and click on Actions on the above toolbar.
  3. Click on Bulk Create tasks, you will be able to choose among different task types (If you're having difficulties deciding on the correct task type, you can learn more about them here).
  4. After choosing the appropriate type, you can continue with the creation of the task, choose the due date,  reviews, notification, and other details, and click Save after you're done.ž

How to assign a task from the People application? 

This is mostly used if the assignee has already completed their onboarding and you just want to assign them a one-time task. 

  1. Go to the People application and find the person you want to assign the individual task to.
  2. Click on the Tasks tab below their profile picture.
  3. Click on the ''+'' icon in the upper left corner.  Once you do that, you will be able to choose among different task types. If you're having difficulties deciding on the correct task type, you can learn more about them here.
  4. After choosing the appropriate type, you can continue with the creation of the task, choose the due date,  reviews, notification, and other details, and click Save after you're done.

How to assign tasks using the Tasks grid? 

Alternatively, you can assign individual tasks if you:

  1. Go to the Tasks grid and click on a ''+'' sign in the upper left corner.
  2. After choosing the wanted task type, you need to choose whom is this task related to as well as the assignee and due date.
  3. If you want, you can set up the reviews and notifications as well before clicking Save. 

NOTE: If you need to assign a task that already exists in one of your checklists, you can do so by following these steps
