How to make changes to employee's employment information?

This article will cover how to make changes to the employee's employment details.

How to change Start Date?

Please note that only an HR admin or an authorized user can perform this task. To modify the status,

  1. Go to the employee profile in People application.
  2. Click on the Actions button on the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click on Change Start Date
  4. Update the Start Date and click Save.

How to change Salary?

Please note that only an HR admin or an authorized user can perform this task. To modify the status,

  1. Go to the employee profile in People application.
  2. Click on the Actions button on the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click on Change Salary link under Update Employment.
  4. Update the Salary and provide the date from which the new status would be effective. Click Save.

By default, the changes are effective from 12AM on the selected date. Also, if a status change is requested and is pending as the effective date has not come, no more status changes can be requested during that period.

How to change Position?

Position flyout is useful as it contains multiple fields at once.

With "Change Position" you can also change Location, Department, Division, Manager and Employment Type.

Please note that only an HR admin or an authorized user can perform this task. To modify the status,

  1. Go to the employee profile in People application.
  2. Click on the Actions button on the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click on Change Position link under Update Employment.
  4. Update any wanted field and provide the date from which the new status would be effective. Click Save.

By default, the changes are effective from 12AM on the selected date. Also, if a status change is requested and is pending as the effective date has not come, no more status changes can be requested during that period.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. The effective date is the date when this change will be applied. If you want to see the change immediately on the employee's profile, you need to put today's date or a past date as the effective date. If the effective date is in the future, change will be applied on that date.
  2. You can set up approval processes for all of these changes.
  3. Here you can see how to cancel pending changes if you need to make corrections.
  4. If you are using ADP integration, please make all of these changes in ADP if the employee already has an ADP account. This is how you can make sure of that. 
    If the employee still hasn't been added to ADP, you can make the changes in HRC as described above.
