How to post and acknowledge a Mandatory Read Announcement?
This article will describe the process of creating a company announcement that users will be required to read.
If there is an important company announcement that your employees simply must read and acknowledge, you can enable the Mandatory Read toggle when creating an announcement.
To create a Mandatory Read Announcement:
- From the Resources drop-down menu select Announcements.
- Click on the + NEW ANNOUNCEMENT button.
- Add a cover image, post title, and the announcement text.
- Click on the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
- Enable the Mandatory Read toggle.
- Choose if you want the signature to be required.
- Click on Done to exit Post Settings.
- Publish your announcement by clicking on the Publish button in the upper right corner.
Another way of adding a Mandatory Read Announcement would be through channel feed. After clicking the entry box with the message "What's on your mind" click the three dots button and Announcements button which will open Add New Announcement flyout. To make it Mandatory Read follow steps from above.
Such posts will be marked with a MANDATORY READ flag and will remain at the top of a user's feed until acknowledged.
To acknowledge and Sign Mandatory Read Announcement:
- Click on the orange READ NOW button to read the announcement.
- Locate the Acknowledgement section at the bottom of the announcement.
- Click on Confirm and Sign button.
- The announcement will be marked as ACKNOWLEDGED and will return to its position in the feed.
Admins can check who acknowledged and/or signed that mandatory read announcement like this.
