How to assign goals as a part of a Perform Review?
This article will cover assigning goals as a part of a Performance review.
Goals can be created and tracked independently, without being connected to a review, or they can be included directly within a review cycle.
To assign goals as part of a review, Goal Tracking must be enabled during the initial Cycle setup in Cycle settings.
When goals are included in a review, both the employee and the manager can contribute to goal progress and tracking throughout the review period.
Steps to assign goals within a review
- Open the Cycles tab in the Perform app.
- Select the Cycle name, then choose the appropriate Review Period.
Note: Goal Tracking must already be enabled for that specific Cycle - Open the Review associated with the employee to whom the goal will be assigned.
- Navigate to the Goal Tracking tab.
- Choose one of the following options:
- + New Goal — create and assign a brand-new goal.
-
- + Existing Goal — link a previously created goal to the review.
- + Existing Goal — link a previously created goal to the review.
Assigning an existing goal
- Click + Existing Goal.
- Select the goals you want to track within the cycle.
- Click Save to attach them to the review.
Creating a new goal
If you select + New Goal, follow the same process used when creating a goal outside of a review, described here.
Here is a demonstration of the process described above:
Updating goal progress
After a goal is added to the review, employees can update their progress in two ways (more here):
- Through the Goals Dashboard
- By opening the specific review from the Reviews tab and updating progress within the Goal Tracking section
This ensures continuous visibility and collaboration between employees and managers during the review cycle.
